Life is a simulation

Life is a simulation

Everybody has an idea of what their life should hold for them. Some maybe focused solely on the earning potential. Others , perhaps a balance of life and money and for the lucky few, it is all about the quality of life where money does not mean much. When I say lucky ones, they are not guided by money and are content with their lives. There is no urge to upgrade their car, wear certain clothes or really care what anyone thinks. They have their set routine and are really happy with what they have got. When I was 18 years of age, the majority of my friends and myself included were thinking about careers, college and university pathways and working out what life had to offer. One of my friends wanted a simple job, a guaranteed wage packet and eventually a home where he could go after work. He was all for settling down with his girlfriend (who he later married). We all had joked that he was an old man that lacked ambition etc., but actually deep down we all admired him. He knew what he wanted and he got it. Unfortunately, I am ambitious and this is where I am always trying to improve on what I have. I am not talking about cars, money, clothes etc., but slowly gaining. Hence, I will never be fully content.

Years later, looking back at my friend and knowing what I know now, I would say that we can all be like my friend. We just need to know what we want to do in life. If we find a job we enjoy, then we will be more content because it is meeting a lot of our initial needs such as doing something we enjoy, having financial security and most importantly not being bored.

Throughout your  life, you will play board games and simulations. One of the game simulations is called “The Game of Life”.
Here is an article on how real life careers mixes with simulations. Happy reading.
